Rakuten Marketing Releases Affiliate Products, Curate and Automate

New affiliate technologies empower partnerships with automated product discovery, showcase production and tracking generation

SYDNEY, September 14, 2016 – Rakuten Marketing today announced the full release of its new affiliate marketing technologies, Curate and Automate, which empower brands and publishers with increased product optimisation and revenue performance. Both technologies offer unique features for bloggers, social influencers and publishers to quickly find and track the most impactful affiliate content, including searchable product-links, custom showcase builders, and automated URL tracking insertion.

Anthony Capano, Managing Director of Rakuten Marketing Asia-Pacific commented “the rise of the influencer and eruption of online platforms for content creation has created a greater need for technologies which enable brands to closely align themselves with their influencer partners.”

With the release of Curate and Automate, Rakuten Marketing is bridging the benefits of an established global network with the agility and usability emerging influencers require. Capano commented “what we’ve built is effective, easy-to-use technology that equips brand with the ability to scale affiliate strategies for the rapidly growing population of influencers”

  • Curate is a product discovery platform, where Rakuten Marketing publishers can intuitively search for products across all approved brand partners. Along with convenience, this feature enhances publishers’ ability to discover the products that best align with the vision and style of the post. Curate also features a tool making it easy to create and publish a showcase of multiple products.
  • Automate converts standard URLs into trackable affiliate links within publishers’ posts. Working seamlessly with third-party tools like Skimlinks and Viglink, Automate saves publishers’ time with a simple javascript that automatically applies tracking to any link from the site of an approved brand partner. Publishers can create trackable affiliate content without ever logging into a dashboard.

Notably, Curate integrates directly with Pinterest, which began allowing affiliate links in May. With a single step, publishers can pin product links, and apply affiliate tracking that is maintained and included with every re-pin.

“The continuing growth and evolution of influencer marketing is undoubtedly shaping the future of marketing,” says Adam Weiss, SVP, Affiliate GM, Rakuten Marketing. “Curate and Automate, as well the social integration, are indicative of our vision for affiliate marketing as the revenue-driving force behind brand and influencer partnerships.

Brands today work with hundreds, sometimes thousands, of publishers who are driving discovery, sales and loyalty. With these new products, Rakuten Marketing creates an ideal combination of technology that supports the increasing scale, while maintaining high standards of full-funnel performance transparency across all partners, screens and programs.
